By knowing the exact location of the emergency at all times decreases confusion and allows people to determine the best way to exit safely or stay safe. With School Security First, the ability to notify 911 and potential victims within seconds is critical. The difference between minutes and seconds will help in saving lives.
How Does It Work
Once your school has purchased School Security First, we customize the mobile application for your campus including all of your unique locations. Our App allows any school staff member the capability to activate one of the 8 available emergency alerts. Within seconds, every person on campus you want notified will be alerted to the type of emergency and exact location of the emergency. 911 is also notified. The App continues to work in real-time so if the location of the emergency or type of emergency changes, any school personnel can update this information quickly.
Once the authorities have defused the situation, designated staff members will press the “All Clear” icon so everyone, including parents, will be notified the emergency is over. Parents are not notified until after an emergency has been cleared. A GPS activation system built into the APP automatically turns on the student’s phone so parents can locate their child within 5 feet of their location. This cuts down on post crisis confusion and stress.
